Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!

In the Christian faith Holy Week—the last week of Lent, which leads up to Easter—is the most sacred week of the year. Join Monaca UMC and our sister church, Aliquippa First UMC, at Holy Week worship activities as we prepare to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ!

Palm Sunday, March 24th @ 11:00am

Wave palm leaves as the children of the church march in a Palm Parade around the sanctuary during worship.

Maundy Thursday, March 28th @ 5:30pm

Aliquippa First UMC will host this year’s Seder Meal, followed by a covered dish dinner. Meat will be provided.

Good Friday, March 29th @ 2:00pm

A Service of Tenebrae will be held on Good Friday at Aliquippa First UMC in the Fellowship Hall. Experience the final hours of Christ’s life on earth with this moving Service of Light. Hear, feel, smell, see as the scriptural story is read, the lights extinguished, and it seems like all hope is lost.

Easter Sunday, March 31st @ 11:00am

Rejoice as a community of faith with those words that encapsulate our faith: Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!

Sunday, April 7th, starting at 11:00am

The celebration continues as those completing our Spiritual Gifts course will have a time of dedication and affirmation of their gifts during worship, followed by a post-Easter brunch in the Carey Center!
