All activities are suspended until further notice

We are saddened to report that until further notice, all activities at Monaca UMC — including worship and meetings — have been suspended.

Pastor Nancy Shute states, “This decision is not made lightly but rather in an effort to keep all of God’s children safe.”

The decision comes amid caution expressed by Western Pennsylvania UMC Conference Bishop Cynthia Moore-Koikoi in a message to church leaders and pastors on March 11, 2020. That message can be read here.

Governor Wolf is also encouraging religious leaders to cancel services to help prevent the spread of the virus. Updates from the governor’s office can be found here.

Pastor Nancy adds:

“Please know that I will be working on alternatives for worship and meetings such as email, online worship services, television and radio worship services to recommend in the interim.

“I will be in the office on Tuesday [March 17] working on other options and hopefully a timeline for this disruption. In the meantime pray for one another, hold one another in the Light of the One who loves us most.”
