Have An Epiphany!

After December 25th (and certainly by January 1st) many people view Christmas as “over” for the year. But for Christians, the Christmas season only begins with Christmas and continues until January 6th – known as the day of Epiphany! (The four weeks leading up to Christmas are celebrated as Advent.)

If you want to know where the “12 Days of Christmas” started, count the number of days from Christmas to January 5th (the day before Epiphany) – and you’ll find that there are 12 days in the Christmas season!

Epiphany celebrates the revelation that Jesus is GOD, and commemorates the visit of the Magi (a.k.a. the Three Wise Men) to the Christ Child, where this revelation was affirmed. This Epiphany, let’s reaffirm this revelation in our hearts and take time to ponder how the birth of Jesus Christ can transform our daily lives.
