Let’s Do Lunch

Since October 2021, Monaca UMC has been offering free meals each month to local residents, food pantry patrons, and church members.

Monaca UMC is trying a new format for these lunches in 2024.

Individuals, families, groups, and organizations can now sponsor a meal by providing lunch on the 2nd Tuesday of a chosen month from 11am to Noon. This day / time was chosen to coincide with our monthly food pantry distributions.

Vicki Kane – who had been providing the monthly meals since the beginning – has graciously offered assistance as new volunteers learn how to navigate the church kitchen. The lunches need not be extravagant, and we are currently preparing for 10-20 guests.

Please consider signing up on your own or as a group of family and/or friends to supply a meal for your neighbors. If you are connected with a local organization or restaurant, we would welcome them to provide lunch one month as well. It’s worth noting that donations of food and supplies may qualify for a tax deduction.
