Pastor’s Message for July 2024

Happy Summer 2024!

We had a great week of Vacation Bible School here at Monaca UMC, June 17-21. The kids had a great time learning about Jesus, and the adults had a great time being with such wonderful children. As pastor, I was so proud of how everyone worked together to create an amazing experience for all involved.

VBS is always one of the most enjoyable weeks in the church, and it’s also one of the most exhausting! Add to that the extremely hot temperatures, and my brain is fried! So let’s discuss how hot it was in June.

• Did you know it was so hot last week that chickens were laying hard boiled eggs?
• It was so hot last week that Moses parted the asphalt in the church parking lot.
• It was so hot last week that the fire ants burst into real flames.
• It was so hot last week, I saw a funeral procession stopped at a Dairy Queen drive-thru.
• It was so hot last week, the devil went to the lake of fire to cool off.
• It was so hot, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were asking Nebuchadnezzar to go back into the fiery furnace!
• It was so hot, the burning bush was looking for shade.
• How hot was it? It was so hot the pigs were bacon.

Okay, I’ll stop on that last one! I hope my jokes have got you fired up for what God has in store for you this summer!
