Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in visiting Monaca United Methodist Church at 813 Indiana Avenue in Monaca, Pa. 15061. We will be pleased to meet you!

We worship on Sunday mornings at 11am.

Here is some information people find helpful before attending church at Monaca UMC:

Parking

In addition to the street parking on Indiana Avenue (angle parking permitted on Sundays), you can find off-street parking in several locations:

• In the main lot next to the church (if facing the church from Indiana Avenue, this lot is to the left of the church)
• In a secondary lot off of 8th Street (between Indiana Avenue and Beech Street Alley)
• Along the church buildings off of Beech Street Alley

Building Entry

Guests should enter through the street-level double doors that face Indiana Avenue, where greeters will welcome you and provide you with a bulletin that will be your guide to the worship service. You can ask the greeters any questions you may have. If they don’t have the answer, they will know how to connect you with the appropriate person.

Navigating Inside

Once inside, you’ll find the coat room and Carey Community Center entrance to your right.

Straight ahead are the church offices. The restrooms are located directly across from the offices.

To the left are two sets of stairs and an elevator. The stairs going up lead to the sanctuary, which is where we worship each Sunday morning. The stairs going down lead to the lower level fellowship hall and the children’s Sunday School classrooms. All levels are accessible by the elevator.

On the tables straight ahead of you when you enter the church building are flyers, sign-up sheets, and other information.

Communion

As part of the United Methodist Church, we believe that “whoever will receive may come” for Communion. This includes children. We serve Communion during worship on the first Sunday of each month. You are welcome to participate (or not participate) as you choose. Gluten-free elements are available.

Sunday School & Children’s Needs

Kids under 18 are invited to attend Sunday School during worship. Bring your kids into the sanctuary for worship at 11am. Partway into the service (at about 11:15) Pastor Jim shares a Children’s Message, after which the Sunday School teachers lead the kids to class for the remainder of worship. The Sunday School volunteers have up-to-date criminal background checks and child abuse clearances and follow Safe Sanctuary guidelines.

You are welcome to keep your child(ren) with you through the entire worship service as well.

Parents of babies and non-potty trained children are asked to keep their children with them during worship. In the area adjacent to the sanctuary, you’ll find a cry room, a single-stall restroom, and a small play area, all of which you are welcome to use as needed. Changing tables are located in the main level restrooms (downstairs from the sanctuary and to the left) as well as in the lower level fellowship hall.
