Women’s Ministry & Outreach
There are a variety of ways that Christian women may want to get involved in outreach projects at both Monaca UMC and our sister church, First UMC of Aliquippa (or Aliquippa First, as it is often known):
The Eves
The Eves Women’s Group was formed to accommodate women who enjoy meeting in the evenings. The Eves gather on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm, with the meeting location alternating between the two churches. (Check our calendar for meeting locations.) This group is dedicated to raising funds and collecting needed items for church ministries and local charitable organizations, as well as taking on service projects to benefit the community. Past events include a bake-a-thon to show appreciation to First Responders, a trivia event, and a sock hop!
Most recently, the group has been working to prepare a cookbook for publishing. Members of both congregations have contributed a variety of recipes such as Yankee Beef Stew, Slow Cooker Pierogi Casserole, and Lemon Velvet Cake. Pre-orders are being accepted now. Each book is $13. Cookbooks can be picked up at either location for no additional charge or shipped anywhere in the contiguous US for $4 each.
You can pre-order cookbooks in person at either church or via the link below:
If ordering online, you will be notified via email when the cookbooks are ready to be picked up/shipped, likely in late August. Announcements will also be made online and in bulletins.

Women’s Ministries
Women’s Ministries is an informal group of women at Monaca UMC, who raise money for causes in the community. This is the group behind the church’s annual rummage sale, held each spring. If you’d like to help with these fundraisers, contact us.
United Women in Faith
United Women in Faith (UWF) is a global organization hosted locally by Aliquippa First UMC. According to its website, UWF seeks to “connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship, and education that they can inspire, influence, and impact local and global communities.” This organization is open to women from The United Methodist Church as well as other faith traditions.
UWF meetings, which feature a program or speaker each month, are typically held at Aliquippa First UMC (2816 Brodhead Rd, Aliquippa, PA 15001) at 1pm on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, September–June. Please contact the church office at (724) 375-5287 or secretaryfirstumc@gmail.com for more information.
The next UWF meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 18th at 1pm. This month’s speaker is April Wolfe, who will present on Anova Hospice. After the meeting, refreshments will be served by Cari Lennon and Kristen Sands.
